Model Information

Wolfsburg Edition

The annual Wolfsburg Edition sales campaign began with the 1983 model-year Rabbit Convertible and was offered for that year in triple-white only.

There were no factory-built Wolfsburg Editions for the 1988, 1990, and 1991 model years.

Star Blue Metallic was only offered on the 1989 Wolfsburg Edition Cabriolet which was part of a special 40th Anniversary sales campaign. This model had its own special interior, commonly called "Helios" due to the interior being installed in Helios Blue Metallic Jettas.

Contrary to popular belief, these models were not assembled at Volkswagen's main plant in Wolfsburg; they were built right alongside all other Cabriolet models at the Karmann factory in Osnabrück, Germany. "Wolfsburg Edition" is simply a smart marketing name.

Nearly all Wolfsburg Edition Cabriolets were built during the second half of the production cycle. What this means: Nearly all Wolfsburg Edition Cabriolets will have high sequential production numbers for their given years.

The model itself is common; the rarest, however, is the 1986 Havanna Brown version.

Replacement fender badges are available through Heritage Parts Centre.
